Ray Diagrams

1. Ray diagram show the reflection of light.
2. A ray diagram is drawn as follows.

3. Some object can reflect light better than other. Flat, smooth and shiny surfaces such as mirror or aluminium foils are good reflectors of light.
4. Flat and smooth surface reflect light in a regular pattern. The light rays are reflected at an angle which is the same as the angle at which they hit the surface.
5. Rough and uneven surfaces such as cloth and cardboard are not good reflectors of light. The reflected rays are scattered at different angle from uneven surface.
